Physical presence still important in the digital domain

At an inauguration a few days ago in Brussels, it was demonstrated that virtual presence is not always the best solution Solvay inaugurated its European Digital Studio at its Brussels Headquarters. The Studio is part of an international network dedicated to the internal development of digital projects, with others already operational in Paris, Singapore and Princeton (USA).

The Digital Studio has been designed to be a disruptive working environment delivering innovative applications within an optimized time frame, 12 weeks maximum.

Alice Tranchant, Digital Studio Europe’s Manager, comments: “People are physically present at the studio as opposed to a traditional project where people have meetings via calls. We provide guidance by organizing ideation meetings, gathering feedback, providing experts, and coaching teams to adopt an agile way of working”.

The project teams bring together employees from different locations and with different expertise as well as external experts and customers.

Since its launch last September in Paris, several projects dedicated to sustainable development, employee experience, employee safety, customer experience, or value creation for clients have been incubated in the different Digital Studios.
