PSA takes citydev building

One of the missions of the citydev.brussels agency is to bring employment to the Region via renovating/constructing suitable buildings. The latest announcement from citydev is therefore a demonstration of a spectacular success in this domain. French car manufacturer PSA group (Peugeot, Citroën, DS and now also Opel) had been looking for new headquarters following its takeover of Opel some time ago. PSA has now elected to install these headquarters in citydev’s Bourget 20 development on the Da Vinci site at Evere, Brussels.

The good news in terms of both renting out the premises and of creating employment, comes in the fact that PSA is taking an entire building (one of three) and will employ no less than 325 persons. The building in question (now owned by developer Project² of Antwerp) extends to 4,200 m² over three floors.

PSA will thus house its HQ and its administrative facilities for the car brands on the site, along with the mobility brand Free2Move Lease Belgium and the PSA Finance Bank. For those not familiar with the way the car market is changing, most major brands now accept that the days of ‘one person one car’ as the principal means of mobility for private individuals and companies, are over. The manufacturers now have to offer flexible leases, the ability to change vehicle according to need (weekend, holiday…) and alternative modes of transport such as electric scooters.
