Sustainable award for Erasmus Gardens huge housing scheme

Erasmus Gardens, the BPI development close to Erasmus hospital and the Pede sporting complex, has won an award. It has been named ‘Best Sustainable Real Estate Project in Belgium’ by British professional publication ‘Build’.

Designed to be an inter-generational development, Erasmus Gardens will offer 1,300 apartments on a total ground area of 10 hectares. It features public areas connected by walkways, and a main central public square ‘The Plaza’ extending to 3,500 m². Where access is concerned, there is a metro station in the immediate proximity, with direct connections to the centre of Brussels. For those using cars, the entrance to Erasmus Gardens is just a couple of minutes’ drive from the Brussels Ring at Anderlecht.

The project will also provide smart services to its occupants, including car-sharing and intelligent letter boxes. Also scheduled are the use of electric cars, solar panels, e-trading and pop-up stores.
