REALTY has become THE meeting place for the Belgian real estate industry

Realty has announced that for the 10th edition this year, in collaboration with Art&Build, it has invited top Japanese architect Fujimoto Sou to be the keynote speaker on the opening day,16th May. Fujimoto Sou, the organisers go on to say, hit the headlines in recent years with some amazing constructions, such as the well-known ‘Mille Arbres’ (photo) in the heart of Paris and the ‘Arbre Blanc’ project in Montpellier. Our capital will soon also be able to discover his exceptional talent. The Japanese architect recently won the coveted 'Delta Tower' project, for the future Delta site on the Herrmann-Debroux viaduct in Brussels.

This year’s Realty will also include an Innovation Pavilion and Showroom, where visitors will be able to discover the most innovative solutions of the future. Solutions that will not only benefit the real estate market, but also our cities in the future. In the Innovation Pavilion, powered by Proximus, visitors will be able to network with 20 start-ups, discover the latest technologies, join various conferences, and attend several live demos.

In terms of conferences, and in addition to that of Fujimoto Sou and those in the Innovation Pavilion, the annual UPSI/BVS conference will feature a mayors’ debate, CBRE will host a major event and the BLSC will of course focus on shopping centres.

Also forming part of Realty this year, Antwerp-based Real Estate Society (RES) is proud and honoured to announce the first edition of the RES Awards.
The RES Awards aim to celebrate Project Development Excellence. The competition is open to all real estate developments with a size over 5,000 gross square meters above ground in Belgium, which were delivered between of January 1st 2017 and February 1st 2018. The categories are ‘Best Development for Institutional Investors’, ‘Best Residential development’ and ‘Best (Semi) Public Development’.
A professional and independent jury of top real estate professionals will make a pre-selection of nominees in April 2018 and will vote before the ceremony during REALTY on the 17th of May 2018 for a winner in each category.
