Spaces flagship at T&T

As co-working units continues to gain ground and to displace traditional ‘owned’ offices, a major new opening has been announced in Brussels. Spaces has announced what will be the largest such centre in Belgium. The company, which originated in Amsterdam and whose Director General in Belgium is former Regus executive William Willems, is to open a 4,500 m² centre in the iconic setting of the Maritime Station of Tour & Taxis, at the end of the year. The ‘Maritime Station’, at the end of the 19th century the largest merchandise station in Europe, follows the Royal Warehouse, Sheds and Hotel de la Poste in being renovated on and around the site. It is currently undergoing this renovation under the auspices of Tour & Taxis owner Extensa.

The four floor Spaces centre, with its offices and meeting rooms, will become the flagship of the company in Belgium, where it has a number of other centres. Commenting on the latest initiative, William Willems says: “People want to work in inspiring surroundings. Within this context, I am proud that we are soon opening our largest centre in the Extensa project”. Kris Verhellen, CEO of Extensa, speaks of the vast Spaces network meaning that those using the sevice are no longer tied to one office location only.
