Awards for Tivoli

The Tivoli Greencity development by citydev has attracted a great deal of attention during its development. It also attracted the King to its official inauguration in June. Now, the development is also being widely recognised by a number of architectural/environmental awards.

At the end of last month, Tivoli won an award in the (semi) public development category of the Real Estate Society (RES) Awards. The RES is an association of former Masters students at Antwerp Management School, whose objective is to professionalise the real estate sector. A few days later, Tivoli Greencity was recognised twice during the Green Solutions Awards. It was crowned with the Grand Prix Green Construction Belgium 2019 and Green Building Smart Building Belgium 2019. During the same awards, Greenbizz received the Public Prize for Green City Belgium 2019. These awards qualify the winners to take part in the international final to take place in Paris on November 4th during Batimat.

The Green Solutions Awards recognise exemplary projects contributing to the fight against climate change, and are organised by collaborative platform Construction 21, which assists professionals in sustainable urban development.

Tivoli, which includes a total of 397 residential units, 2 crèches, 770 m² of retailing and 10,000 m² of public space, along with the Greenbizz incubator, has always set out to be exemplary in terms of sustainable development. All of the buildings are passive and around a third of the residential units are zero energy. There is even talk of the district being named the ‘most sustainable project in the world’ by BREEAM.
