There is more news from Mipim organisers Reed Midem about this year’s event, to be held in Cannes from March 10 to 13.

Firstly, the exhibition has once again attracted a world famous figure to deliver the keynote speech. Last year, participants were able to hear a powerful address by former UN secretary General Ban Ki Moon. This year, it is a captain of industry (to say the least) who will be addressing conference goers. None other than Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, has accepted the invitation from Reed Midem. The organisers point out that to build our future, leaders in real estate need to anticipate the rapidly changing requirements of the user and to adopt new ideas. Thinking differently to deliver innovative solutions is the DNA of forward-thinking entrepreneurs such as Steve Wozniak, who revolutionized the world of technology.

Throughout his career, Reed Midem goes on to say, Steve Wozniak has shown how a business successfully transforms and flourishes through the capacity to innovate. More than ever, technology is an integral part of our lives and the real estate industry is no exception. Its entire ecosystem is reinventing itself.

That is not the only participation by the world of technology at this year’s Mipim. For the first time in Cannes, Mipim PropTech will organise a day of conferences and networking events wholly dedicated to technological innovation in the urban environment. Around the theme of ‘invest in tech’, Mipim participants will be able to discover the dynamics of investment in this market and also how innovation is spreading inside property companies and forming part of their business models. The PropTech Day will be held on Tuesday, 10 March at the Carlton Beach and will be open to all Mipim participants.
