Winners of the MIPIM Awards tobe celebrated in Paris in September



After the cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic of Mipim, scheduled for mid March and then early June, the Mipim Awards 2020 will now become a key component of Paris Real Estate Week to take place in mid September and also organized by Reed Midem.

The MIPIM Awards programme runs the whole psectrum of property types and over the past three decades has demonstrated an unrivalled track record in identifying buildings that not only set new standards in design and construction, but which have stood the test of time. Last January, the jury selected 45 outstanding real estate projects from 19 countries in 11 categories

The winners of the competition will be selected on a 50-50 basis, with delegates’ votes carrying equal weight with the jury’s own votes. Those accredited to Mipim2020 and the Paris Real Estate Week will be able to vote online for the projects of their choice between 17th August and 11th September. In addition, the jury of real estate experts have the right to award one additional prize – the ‘Special Jury Award’, which goes to their favourite project amongst all the entries they considered.

4 Belgian real estate projects are in the finals this year are as follows:
  • CHIREC Delta General Hospital Brussels, developed by the ‘Centre Hospitalier Interregional Edith Cavell’ (CHIREC) and designed by ASSAR Architects. This project will be competing in the category ‘Best Healthcare Development ’against others from Denmark, Russia and Sweden.
  • Tivoli Green City, Brussels, by citydev.brussels is competing in the ‘Best urban project’category. Several architects have contributed including BEAI - Bureau d’Engineering & d’Architecture Industrielle, architectesassoc, Cerau, Atelier 55, Atlante, YY Architecture. Tivoli will have to beat off challenges from France, Poland and Russia.
  • The Cosmopolitan, Brussels is competing as a ‘Best Refurbished Building’. The developer here is BESIX RED with architecture by Bogdan & Van Broeck. The competition comes from Canada, France and the Netherlands.
  • Red Cross Care Hotel, Zuienkerke, a development by the Red Cross Flanders and designed by POLO Architects. In the category [Best Hotel and Tourism Resort ] the hotel will be up against entries from France, Georgia and the USA.
The winners will be announced during the Awards ceremony on September 15 at the amazing Intercontinental Paris Legrand hotel.
