Newcomer to Belgian flexible office scene

Belgium is about to see a new entrant in to the ‘flexible office space’ battleground. ‘Spaces’ an Amsterdam-based organisation which was established in 2006, is to open its first centre here – in Diegem on the Brussels periphery – this autumn. This will be followed by centres in Antwerp in 2019 and the company says its ambition is to have at least 10 centres by 2020. In the company’s sights, says Spaces Belgium director William Willens, who people may remember from Regus, are Ghent, Liège, Louvain, Charleroi, Namur and Hasselt.
The Diegem centre will be in Pegasus Park, within sight of the airport, and will offer 3,500 m² over four floors.

The philosophy behind the centres, says the company, is to provide stimulating work space for start-ups, SME’s, entrepreneurs and national or international companies looking to mutually inspire each other. The centres offer free wifi, a coffee bar, administrative support, business events, networking lunches etc. There is also a co-working business club.

Spaces currently has five centres in the Netherlands and a further 37 across the world, with new openings planned in the near future.
