Four Belgian finalists at Mipim Awards

The finalists in the 11 categories of the Mipim Awards have just been announced by organisers Reed Midem. They also said that they had received a record number of 227 applications, from no less than 55 different countries.

Belgium is once again represented, by the AZ Zeno hospital in Knokke-Heist, designed by Aaprog, Boeckx and B2Ai, in the Best Healthcare development category. The ambitious redevelopment of a central part of historic Brussels – the Ilôt Sacré – has also been selected as a finalist, in the Best Residential Development category. This is a Galika development, designed by DDS+.

Antwerp Port House, by Zaha Hadid Architects, is named in the Best Refurbished Building category, while Rive Gauche ‘Charleroi) will be competing in the Best Shopping Centre category. This is a Saint Lambert project, again designed by DDS+.

Fortis Real Estate CEO Serge Fautré is one of the panel of judges.
