Major transactions from Anixton

The Corner Building in Evere, first constructed at the end of the 90's, will house the new Belgian news channel LN24.

Real estate advisor Anixton has released a communiqué indicating some of the latest transactions it is involved in.

Firstly, the newly announced (end of October) French-speaking Belgian broadcasting channel LN24, which is to concentrate on continuous news in the same vein as channels French channels BFM and LCI, mandated Anixton with finding premises for its new offices and studio. The building which has been selected is Cofinimmo’s Corner Building’, located on the corner of the Chaussée de Louvain and Rue de Genève at Evere. This is close to the Brussels Region’s new Media Park project to be constructed on the current site of the RTBF and VRT at Reyers. A surface area of some 700 m² is involved.

LN24 will launch sometime next year, with Martin Buxant, currently a journalist at L’Echo and who is the political interviewer each morning before the news at 8.00 am on RTL, as its editor in chief.

Canal plan

Next, and within the context of the Brussels Region’s canal plan, Anixton has finalised the sale of the ‘Familistère Godin’ site close to Docks Bruxsel. The surface area of around 8,000 m² will be redeveloped into a complex which will mainly comprise residential accommodation and services. The original buildings date back to the end of the 19th century and to a time when accommodation was provided for factory workers adjacent to their place of work – in this case the Godin oven-works.

A third transaction has taken place at Ans, at the edge of Liège. Anixton has advised on the sale of a plot of land owned by real estate developer Banimmo, alongside the E40 motorway on the ‘Bonne Fortune’ site. The land has been acquired by what is described as a ‘top ranking Belgian heating and sanitary installation operator’, which is to locate its 20th Belgian site here.
