Quares Facility Management has announced that it is now also active in the hotel sector. It has been appointed as Technical Facility Manager for the Belgian hotel portfolio of the German investment company Union Investment. This portfolio currently includes the hotels Motel One and the Radisson Blu Royal in Brussels.

Motel One and Radisson Blu Royal together cover a surface area of 37,700m², which encompasses 771 rooms, various meeting rooms, restaurants, wellness centres and car parks.
As Technical Facility Manager, Quares is responsible for the technical management which corresponds to the owner's responsibilities as well as to the supervision of the technical management in relation to the manager.
Quares is also responsible for budgeting for maintenance and the related investments, which will focus on sustainability and the identification of cost optimisation.

The hotel portfolio of Union Investment comprises a total of 43 hotels, spread across 17 large cities in Europe and which represents a value of 2.3 billion Euros (12,500 rooms) or 646,000m² in surface area.
Growth in the hotel sector can only be achieved, says Quares, through active management, strong partnership and mutual trust between the investor and the hotel managers. The value of a hotel is directly linked to the commercial success of the manager.
In order to strengthen this active management approach, Union has decided to appoint a Technical Facility Manager per country to support their Asset Managers.
