The latest development in the ‘Left Side Business Park’ in Charleroi has just been announced. This is a 19,000 m², 13-storey office tower developed by IRET Development, and designed by an association between RGPA and Jaspers-Eyers, and for which the organization has just received a permit. It is expected to receive BREEAM Excellent certification and to be categorized as passive.

Called ‘Rivage’, the project is located opposite the ‘Tiroui’ building and the new Charleroi headquarters of the FGTB union (the first tower on the site and which was completed in July), in the lower city district of the centre of Charleroi, some 400 metres from Charleroi South station. This location offers a high degree of visibility for pedestrians and for those using the Ring.

Of the Left Side Business Park’ itself, one of the strategic development axes of Charleroi, the City emphasizes : ‘Located on the banks of the Sambre, close to the station and at the heart of the Rive Gauche and Phénix projects, it will extend to six hectares. The park will enable a new offering of services, offices and housing in the city centre, as 17,000 m² of housing, 5,000 m² of offices, 3,200 m² of shops, a hotel and a waterway stop are scheduled’.The City of Charleroi also speaks of the overall revitalization of the city, including via other private and public projects.
