Mipim launches digital programme with March on-line debate

Although Mipim 2021 is still officially scheduled to start just three months from now (June 7th to 10th) it clearly remains somewhat in doubt. The Covid situation in the very part of France in which Mipim takes place (the Côte d’Azur) is currently one of the worst in the whole country. This may be reversed with the various confinement measures, but it has to be assumed that the logistics (from the exhibitors’ point of view at least) may make the holding of a physical show three months from now, difficult.

The Mipim innovation to ensure that debate in the real estate domain still takes place, and that future leaders are catered for, comes in the form of the ‘Leaders’ Perspectives Summit by Mipim’ on-line debate to take place from March 16th to 18th. The established leaders who will be offering their experience are Bertrand Piccard, initiator and pilot of Solar Impulse, Isabelle Scemama (AXA), Mark Dixon (founder of Regus and CEO of IWG), Raymond Johansen (Governing Mayor Oslo), William Ruh (Lendlease), Méka Brunel (Gecina) and François Trausch (Allianz Real Estate).

This first all-digital event, Reed Midem explain, is focused on economic recovery in 2021. It will give the floor to international real estate leaders as well as to young talent working in the sector who will have the opportunity to challenge the leaders’ ideas.

This event is free and open to all and introduces Mipim’s new digital platform, which will provide support for real estate and city professionals throughout the year. This Leaders’ Perspectives Summit, the organizers go on to say, will kick off the 2021 Mipim programme with three full days of global conversations with international experts ready to shake up ideas about resilience, social and environmental responsibility, economic challenges, and innovation. The Leaders' Perspectives Summit is being organised in partnership with Lendlease Digital.

Ronan Vaspart, Director of Mipim, states: “We want to stimulate debate at the beginning of 2021 by bringing together men and women who are leaders in their field, and challenging them with ideas from young talent who are the potential leaders of tomorrow's real estate industry. The idea is to open our horizons towards a radically transformed, more responsible and sustainable future. Digital events are now part of Mipim’s strategy in addition to the physical events in Cannes, New York and Hong Kong.”

This summit (live conferences and networking app) will be open to all and free of charge for one week. All Mipim event participants in 2021 will benefit from full access to the digital platform throughout the year. The website offers all the programme details along with how to register.
