Futurn to redevelop former Coca-Cola bottling plant in Hasselt

Developer Futurn has bought from MC Group – a family-owned investment company – the 4.3 hectares of industrial land partially occupied by the Coca-Cola bottling plant and logistics centre in Hasselt. At the end of last year MC Group had exclusively mandated JLL for the sale.

The site comprises around 19,500 m² of warehouses combined with 1,600 m² of offices. It is located between the Hasselt Ring and the Albert Canal. The site belonged to Coca-Cola Enterprises Belgium until 2014 when the company carried out a sale & lease back for its distribution centre, sold the entire site and rented half of it back. Today, in addition to Coca-Cola, the building is also leased to Rexel, Omerus Gerechtdeurwaarders, The Moose Experience and Z33.

Futurn is specialized in the (re)development of industrial real estate; transforming existing sites into an innovative mix of sustainable industrial buildings, offices, showrooms and even build-to-suit projects. Together with the Ekkelgaarden and Heros business parks, this will be the 3rd consecutive redevelopment carried out by Futurn in Hasselt.

The master plan for the redevelopment project is being drawn up, the objective being to submit the application for a building permit in the coming month
