Belgian state to buy Möbius II tower

OFFICES

After years of favoring the rental of buildings rather than the purchase, the Belgian Buildings Agency, which manages all Belgian State assets, is to reverse its strategy by acquiring, and not renting, new buildings. The first example of this is the purchase - via the FPS Interior - of the entire Möbius II building located in the North district of Brussels. This is a 34,000 m2 office building developed by Immobel and Fidentia Real Estate Investments S.A. State Security will move into this new building, vacating the North Gate building it currently occupies. However, the government has yet to validate the transaction.

This transactions is part of a much broader policy of renewal at the Belgian Building Agency. The objective is to invest 5 billion Eruros over the next 10 years to put the State's real estate assets back into working order and adapt them to new needs in terms of working methods. The total portfolio is spread over 900 buildings and 6.8 million m2 in total.

The multi-year investment plan set up by Secretary of State Mathieu MICHEL includes 160 projects identified across the country.
