Logistics and semi-industrial real estate developer VGP is highly attractive to investors.

On Wednesday, in barely one hour, Antwerp based company VGP, a European provider of high-quality logistics and semi-industrial real estate, raised 300 million Euros from institutional investors. VGP is one of the consequent winners of the COVID 19. The pandemic is giving a turbo-boost to e-commerce and therefore to logistics parks. VGP Group is taking full advantage of this trend. The total area of VGP logistics parks under construction has increased by almost half a million square metres to 1.62 million. More than 80 percent of this pipeline is already leased and represents 100 million Euros in future rent on an annual basis. Almost half (46%) of the logistics parks under construction are located in Germany – where VGP group is the landlord of the Amazon logistics infrastructure – Spain (12%) and the Czech Republic (12%).

Jan Van Geet, CEO and founder of VGP comments on this fund raising: “We are very pleased to announce the successful completion of this equity raising which met with strong demand from both local and international investors. This exercise has provided us with additional resources to pursue our strategy of capturing investment opportunities and will ensure we can deliver on our significant pre-committed pipeline. We are grateful for the ongoing support by existing and new investors.” This week’s equity raising involves a capital increase through the issue of 1.25 million new shares. (approximately 6.1% of the company's outstanding shares on completion of the offering). The market value of the company is around 5.4 billion Euros.
