Renewal of the North District with Möbius
BUILD
The twin Möbius towers dominate the landscape to the north of Brussels. They are examples of the renewal of this district. The fluid and innovative architecture of the towers is the work of the Assar architecture office. Seen from the sky, we particularly distinguish the large fluid canopy above the ground floor which integrates the two towers in a single architectural gesture.
The investments made jointly by Immobel and Fidentia real estate for the construction of these two passive office buildings – almost 62,000 m² – have been crowned with success. In March 2020, 1,200 employees of the Allianz Insurance group left their headquarters on the Place de Brouckère to move into the first tower. For Allianz this move has been a real opportunity for a company change of culture. At the end of last year, the investors announced that the second tower had been acquired by the Belgian State, via the Buildings Agency, to house one of the federal public services.
The bold design of the towers with their elliptical shape was constructed by BAM Interbuild, VK, Kyotec for the exterior facades and the Ferex company for some of the metallic components. The interiors of the Allianz Tower that you can see in the video were fitted out by Colliers International. The ground and first floors accommodate, in total transparency and in direct connection with the public space, the entrances, the foyer of a conference room, a shop, the cafeterias and the lounges.
