Danish Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter studio has designed projects in Europe and the US, whether offices, residential, mixed-use buildings or even in the cultural and educational fields. Dorte Mandrup gained worldwide renown, in particular through the projects builds in extreme climates and on particularly fragile sites like the glaciers of Greenland: the Fjord Observation Center at Ilulissat. Her design philosophy is typical of the Scandinavian tradition: a building should be understood in the context of its surroundings.
