Alides reaffirms its ambitious growth strategy in AAA locations

Ghent-based real estate investor and developer Alides, has announced that it has strengthened its position in the Antwerp region with the purchase of the office building located at 121, Frankrijklei in Antwerp. . The building is thus located on one of the main thoroughfares of the city, the ‘Leien’ and is in front of the National . It amounts to 2,159 m² of office space along with77 m² of archive space and 35 parking spaces.
Insurer Ethias is set to move into it in May 2024. In the meantime, Alides has said that it will thoroughly renovate the building to suit its tenant Ethias, with works starting this month. The works include the renovation of the facades and the sustainable renewal of all techniques.
Alongside the residential project Elysia Park in Edegem, the redevelopment of the former Bpost and Proximus sites in Berchem, and an office building at Groenenborgerlaan 16 in Wilrijk, this therefore represents another important acquisition for the Ghent-based developer-investor in Antwerp. With this purchase, Alides says it is reaffirming its ambitious growth strategy in AAA locations.
On his company’s strategy, Rikkert Leeman, CEO of Alides comments: “The purchase of the building on Frankrijklei is fully in line with our expansion strategy in the office segment, which aims to give a sustainable future to obsolete buildings in prime locations. This purchase is another step in strengthening our position in Antwerp and in the further expansion of our qualitative portfolio of office projects in strategic locations”.
