New last mile facility near Ghent

As last mile delivery continues to be a hot topic in the struggle to make our cities more breathable, broker JLL has announced that it has acted in two operations on the Alinso site at Zwijnaarde. In cooperation with site owner Alinso, JLL has let a part of the buildings for use as a last mile delivery centre by an (un-named) international e-trade player and a supermarket chain.

The site itself is ideally located for these types of activities, at the intersection of the Antwerp-Ghent-Kortrijk-Lille E 17 motorway and the Ostend-Brussels-Liège E 40 motorway. The total amount of space let is around 3,000 m² which includes warehousing, offices and services. The warehousing space has been entirely renovated to modern requirements in line with the needs of its new users, and eight loading bays have been installed.

While the merchandise may come from more distant locations, the new ‘last mile delivery centre’ will mean that the centre of Ghent and surrounding districts can be rapidly served.
